Spring Tournament Results...

Although the skies were threatening light rain and temperatures hovered in the low 50's at Sunrise on Wednesday morning, May 15th turned out to be an outstanding day for golf at the Westfields Golf Club in Clifton, Virginia, host for this year's Joint (Fairfax-Lee/George Washington Chapters) Annual Spring Golf Tournament.

A team led by CSM Jimmie W. Spencer (USA, Ret.) walked away with the big prize at the May 15 th tournament, turning in a low score of 54. Spencer's team included CSM Don Thomas (USA, Ret.) who also won the "Accurate Drive Men -- Hole 1" prize with a shot ending up on the line. George Bailey was the third member of the winning team. May 15th was also Spencer's last day as Director, Noncommissioned Officer & Soldier Programs at AUSA -- capping a 20 year "2nd career" at AUSA HQ. Spencer had previously retired from active duty after serving 32 years in uniform. His last active duty assignment was CSM of the U.S. Army Special Operations Comnmand, Fort Bragg, N.C. We anticipate seeing him back in play for our Fall Tournament in October -- this time, fully retired. The second place award went to Kenny Gele, Gordy Scnnadel, Zack Sherman and Scott Bishop of Lockheed Martin with a team score of 56 -- and close on their heels were third place winners Don Bartlett, Bob Speer, Bradley Keith and Al Runnels from PWC with a score of 57.

Congratulations to Ronnie Gordon, the Putting Contest Winner, Brody O'Farrell (Old Guard) who won the "Closest to the Pin - Hole 7" award at 33". Dem Llagan of SES Government Solutions won "Closest to the Pin - Hole 17."

A Message from Tom Stalzer, Chairman, 2013 Annual Spring AUSA Golf Tournament
On behalf of the tournament committee, welcome to the 2013 Annual Spring AUSA Golf Tournament website! The George Washington and Fairfax-Lee Chapters are excited to jointly present this tournament. Our goal is to ensure that you and your guests enjoy playing a fun and competitive round of golf while experiencing the camaraderie and fellowship that takes place by providing your dollars in support of the Army community.  This event also provides a cost-effective venue to promote your company on a national basis while simultaneously supporting soldier support programs on both a local and national level.
